Are You Thirsty?
Being "religious" can be a very frustrating experience. Trying to be a "good" person and earn God's favor sounds like a good idea but actually it will only lead to our failure.
The problem is that every person who is honest with themselves realizes that they don't "measure up" to God's standard of righteousness and they don't follow God's rules. Down deep in our heart of hearts, we know that we fall short of God's perfection. Now that presents a problem for all of us. The problem is that our sin separates us from relationship and fellowship with our Creator, Lord and Savior. Jesus Christ is Holy or completely perfect. We, on the other hand, are neither. In fact, according to God's word we are spiritually dead and unrighteous. Spiritually, if we were a bank, we would be described as bankrupt.
There is only ONE SOLUTION for our sin problem and it is NOT religion. Baptism, ritual prayers, church attendance or other good works may be religious things that people do, but none of these will fix the sin problem we all have. God's solution to our sin problem is relationship not religion. Jesus Christ died on a cross for every sin and every sinner and He provides the way for you and me to be forgiven and become children of God. The salvation He offers is a gift that we must receive by faith. When we personally put our trust in Christ as our Savior, our sins are forgiven and we pass from DEATH to LIFE. This kind of faith is more than head knowledge. We must not only believe what the Bible says about Christ, we must personally believe in Christ.
It is only through a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ that we can possess eternal life and escape the judgement of God that awaits all who reject Him. We want you to know today that God loves you and Jesus Christ loves you. The tangible proof of this love is the fact of Jesus' death. He died in your place that day. The innocent died for the guilty. And He arose in victory over sin, hell, death and Satan three days after His death. And today, our living Savior is calling out to you...
If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.
